American Families United

American Families United is a non-profit organization that represents U.S. citizens and their immigrant spouses in advocating for immigration reform that prioritizes family reunification and minimizes family separation. In recent years the organization grew its membership and participated in more outreach than ever. As a volunteer, I offered to redesign their logo and create a strong graphic system for their communications — one that would work well across mediums, from small social placements to rally banners for marches.

The logo visually tells the story of love being split in two — the hands coming together to represent the teamwork and outreach of the organization to try to keep the heart from being divided. Using blue and red halves in the heart is a nod to the desire for bipartisan support in the reform process.
